DEMI-HUMANS

Simply put, a demi human is more or less an individual with a human like appearance.
Although their bodies look and work like humans, their DNA is different.

Difference between a humans and demi humans.

What separates a human from a demihuman can be characteristics in behaviors, abilities and physical appearance.

Behaviors stem from their non human counterpart.Example, cat demihumans display some characteristics of a cat. Sleeping often, being more active in the night, purring, etc.Physical wise, Demi humans often have tail and ears present, sometimes their eyes are more animalistic than a human being. Some demihumans look more "animal" than human, these types often stray away from humans. They prefer to stay within their community of similarities to avoid confusion.Other examples of physical traits include:

  • Retractable claws/nails.

  • Much Larger than average humans.

  • Sharper teeth/extra teeth.

  • Pupils (eyes).

Demihumans have a more feral behavior and appearance to them in some cases. This can be due to becoming uneasy, or agitated. Often having sharper and longer teeth, snarling, legs forming to be more animalistic, fur growth, claw growth, and appearing larger.

Estrus/Heat cycle

Etrus cycle: estrus cycle which means they have a repetitive cycle in which they periodically come into heat, or what is referred to as estrus. (By definition of google.)Only biological female demi-humans whos animal dna corrispods with a mammal have an estrus cycle.An estrus cycle, or heat cycle in most cases does not enable demi-humans to be affectionate. In most cases they may be more agitated or frustrated.Commonly, most cat-like Demi-humans who do not have partners/spouses may feel more frustrated than affectionate, while those who do have spouses/partners happen to be more affectionate towards their partner. However, this is not always the case, as sometimes demi-humans with spouses can be frustrated or agitated easily during this time.

  • Stronger sense of smell

Cross-Species

There are multiple types of Cross-species.Demi-human Cross species are demihumans whos parents are of two different sub species, or two different species.

Demons

Demons are humanoid entities from hell, or they appear to be.There is no common law they abide by, they simply act as members of society although feared by said society.Appearance in a Demon can vary. Some have horns and tails, body marks, as well as peculiar eye colour and pupils.Others take on a more subtle Human appearance and can only be identified as a demon through their eyes as eye colour and pupils are something you can't change, often being hidden by contacts.Behaviors of demons can vary.They may be more aggressive to other demons than humans or they can choose to be friendly.

Term used among demihumans for a transmitter mark between partners.Each mark varies in design based on the individual who places it.Recipient of the mark has a smaller yet similar version located on their body.Failure for an individual to accept a mark given can be fatal. For this reason, it is a decision discussed and agreed upon between both parties.Most common species, such as incubi, form 'links' with their partner(s) to ensure a secure way of essence harvesting.

Abilities

A Demon's birth ability is genetic, derived from their parent. It may be a sub-genre of said ability. It is not uncommon that an ability can be different from their parent.Example, a fire demon can have children who's abilities are ice related.Some demons gain other abilities in early childhood to late teen years.

Angels

Angels are beings created from light, when traveling they appear to the naked eye as "shooting stars".They are guides when needed the most, if it is seen fit that the person in question deserves said help.Angels are the only beings that do not have romantic, or sexual entanglements and rarely interact with other beings.However, there are some angels that are earthbound, this is due to acquiring human relationships.If an angel finds themself infactuated, they will remain earthbound and can not return to heaven. This does not mean they are no longer angels, but that they are closer to humanity.
